Grocery Store Flowers vs. a Florist: When Does It Matter?
Written by E4 Arrangements
I'm a florist, so this might surprise you:
I have absolutely nothing against grocery store flowers. 😂
Actually, I think they're needed.
Sometimes you want to grab a $15 or $20 bouquet on your way home, put it in a vase, and brighten up the kitchen. Maybe you're visiting a friend and don't want to show up empty-handed. Or maybe you just want flowers for yourself without spending a lot of money.
Grocery store flowers are affordable, convenient, and easy to find.
And honestly? Not every flower purchase needs a florist.

So When Do You Call a Florist?
When the flowers need to do more than simply be flowers.
Maybe someone you love has passed away and you don't know what's appropriate to send.
Maybe it's an anniversary and you want something designed specifically for your person.
Maybe you're sending flowers from another state and need someone local you can trust.
Or maybe you have an important celebration and you don't want to grab a bouquet, you want something intentionally designed for the moment.
That's when you call me.
A florist isn't simply selling you more flowers. We're helping with the details: the design, color, size, flower selection, presentation, delivery, and sometimes even helping you figure out what to send when you honestly have no idea.
That's the difference.

There's Room for Both
I don't think grocery store flowers are competition.
They're solving one problem: “I need something pretty, affordable, and I need it right now.”
A local florist solves another: “This moment matters, and I need someone to help me get it right.”
Both have their place.
So buy those grocery store flowers. Put them on your kitchen table. Bring them to your friend. Enjoy them!
But when the moment needs a little more thought, personalization, or care?
That's when you come see your florist.
