AI and Flowers Online: Pretty Picture…But Is That What You're Actually Getting?

Written by E4 Arrangements

Okay, let's talk about the elephant in the room.

AI and flower pictures!

AI didn't create the problem of flowers looking wayyyy bigger online than they do in real life. Floral images have been professionally styled, edited, retouched, and perfected for years.

But AI has definitely made it easier to create an arrangement that looks absolutely AMAZING...even when the proportions don't make sense in real life.

And that's where I think we need to be careful.

I Use AI Too.

Yep. I said it. ...lol.

But here's how I personally like to use it.

I design the actual arrangement first.

The flowers are mine.
The design is mine.
The work is mine.

But let's be real—not every florist has a professional photography studio, expensive camera equipment, perfect lighting, or knows how to take those beautiful magazine-style photos.

I definitely don't always have the perfect background.

I actually pay for an AI app called Petal Pro that helps me clean up the backgrounds in some of my floral photos.

And no, I'm not sponsored by them.

Yet. 👀😂

For me, that's a great way to use AI.

If I created a beautiful arrangement but there's a stove, random bucket, box, or something else distracting in the background, I can clean that up and let the flowers be the focus.

What I don't want is for AI to turn my arrangement into something I never created and then present that image to you as my work.

If my arrangement had 12 roses, I don't want AI giving me 35 !!!!

If the vase is six inches wide, I don't want the finished picture showing an arrangement that would physically need a vase three times that size.

That's where the difference is for me.

So How Do You Know What's Real?

Do a little homework before ordering flowers online.

Look through the florist's website and social media. Look for behind-the-scenes pictures and videos. Look for consistency in their work.

And don't be afraid to ask questions.

AI itself isn't automatically the problem.

How we use it matters.

For me, technology can clean up the picture.

But the flowers?

I want those to be mine.

Because if I'm showing you my work, I want you to know that somewhere behind that pretty picture was actually me, with my apron on, probably wearing my headphones, designing those flowers...lol!
